Discover 29 Latest Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)
The world's beloved pizza-eating heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special event held at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you decide.
Take a look below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. Everything mentioned below releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals
Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.
Let’s explore a few surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a bit (It counts as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions moving forward.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic to that,” a senior designer stated. “But on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”
That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.
Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.
In any case, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the development for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be near it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red strategy built around artifacts.
“They mesh together to offer the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power
After declining to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards who could work as your commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone rather than only one). Check them out below:
This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck comes with 37 lands.)
How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.
TMNT Bundle (Regular)
As per usual, the company is selling a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:
- 9 Play Boosters
- Fifteen Foil land cards
- 15 Non-foil basic lands
- 2 Reference cards
- One Traditional foil promotional card
- 1 Large life tracker
- 1 storage box
Pizza-Themed Bundle
This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:
- Nine Standard Boosters
- One Collector Booster
- 25 Non-foil pizza lands
- 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
- 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
- 2 Reference cards
- One Oversized spindown life counter
- 1 Card-storage box
For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter adding toppings on a pizza slice. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
The Pizza Bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:
- 12 Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
- One Premium Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
- 90 Non-foil land cards (for building your draft deck)
- 10 Regular token cards
- One Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)
Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.
The general idea is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
